Rule Your Chair was built at the intersection of two careers.
For more than two decades, Christina has educated salon professionals around the world, while Ryan has spent more than twenty-five years leading creative work for some of the world's most recognized brands. Though their careers began in different industries, both have spent their professional lives studying human behavior—how people think, learn, communicate, and respond to pressure.
Together, they founded Rule Your Chair to bridge the gap between technical education and human behavior—helping salon professionals better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and navigate the pressures of life behind the chair.
Christina Carter

Christina has been a hairstylist since 2003 and an industry educator for more than fifteen years. She has taught salon professionals throughout North America and Europe in beauty schools, salons, classrooms, and on main stages, including multiple appearances at America's Beauty Show, Premiere Orlando, ISSE Long Beach, L'ANZA BIG Event, and TOP HAIR Düsseldorf.
Her career combines more than two decades behind the chair with advanced coaching, leadership development, and performance psychology, creating a practical approach to helping salon professionals navigate pressure, relationships, and personal growth.

Ryan has spent more than twenty-five years leading creative work for national and global brands. As a Creative Director, he has led creative strategy, branding, advertising, and large-scale productions for organizations including the United States Army, Disney Parks, Marriott Hotels, State Farm, Blue Cross Blue Shield, KraftHeinz, Mondelēz International, and Kimberly-Clark.
Ryan brings that same approach to Rule Your Chair—shaping how we communicate, teach, and turn complex ideas into experiences people remember and use.
